I-10 lane closures and overnight road work in Chandler AZ

What drivers should know about I-10 traffic delays

Motorists traveling through Chandler should prepare for upcoming I-10 lane closures and overnight road work that may cause significant traffic delays.

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has announced that, starting Monday, February 16, both eastbound and westbound lanes of I-10 will experience overnight restrictions between State Route 387 and Pinal Avenue/SR 187.

These closures are necessary for barrier placement and roadway maintenance.

Specifically, eastbound I-10 will be reduced to a single lane near mileposts 183-184 from 8 p.m. Monday until 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Westbound I-10 will be narrowed to one lane near mileposts 185-183 nightly from 8 p.m. Monday through 5 a.m. Saturday, February 20.

Additional westbound restrictions are scheduled near the Gila River Bridge (mileposts 173-171) from 9 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, to 5 a.m. Thursday, February 19, and again from 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday.

ADOT advises drivers to allow extra travel time and exercise caution through these work zones.

The I-10 corridor is a vital route connecting the Phoenix metro area with Pinal County, and these overnight closures may impact early-morning commuters and long-haul traffic.

Motorists are encouraged to check real-time conditions at az511.gov before traveling.
