Oolong tea in Chandler, Arizona |
Discover chicha san chen and boba tea chandler specialties |

Chicha San Chen is bringing a new wave of oolong tea culture to Chandler, Arizona, with its debut location quickly making waves among locals and tea fans.
This isn’t just another boba spot—it’s a destination for those seeking finely crafted, customizable tea blends with origins deeply rooted in Taiwanese tradition.
For more than two decades, the Chicha San Chen brand has honed a reputation for excellence, relying on both award-winning tea leaves and modern brewing methods like the teapresso machine.
In Chandler, visitors can select from a lineup of six tea bases—balanced between light and dark oolongs—and infuse them with flavors such as honey, mango, or cream, before selecting toppings including boba, taro balls, or classic tapioca.
What stands out is the meticulous attention to detail: every single cup is brewed individually, with sugar levels tailored to your taste.
According to owners Philip and Rosa Chang, consistency and quality are at the core of the Chicha San Chen experience, marking a fresh era for boba tea Chandler has yet to see.
Philip Chang, who was inspired by LA and Seattle’s tea culture, believes Chandler’s diverse community values both tradition and innovation—a perfect fit for the brand’s debut in Arizona.
Guests are occasionally treated to special tastings, like the rare Lishan Oolong, highlighting the subtle differences imparted by five distinct oolong roasts, from golden-hued to deep amber.
Employee-led tea ceremonies not only introduce locals to authentic Taiwanese tea culture, they also demonstrate why Chicha San Chen’s dedication to precision is unmatched.
With around 30 newly trained staff members, the shop operates on a simple principle: let the tea itself shine, without distractions like food menus.
The emphasis on “eat tea” rather than “drink tea” signals a new direction for tea houses in Chandler—places where families and friends can genuinely connect.
As the city’s boba tea landscape continues to evolve, Chicha San Chen is already fostering a community of loyal regulars and curious newcomers alike.

Love that they focus just on tea, not all the extra stuff. Been looking for something more traditional since moving from Seattle.
Sandra L.I totally get that! A lot of places here are more about the toppings than the tea. Hope Chicha San Chen gives you that Seattle vibe.
Curious if the sugar options mean it’s not too sweet. Sometimes boba shops overdo it. Might give it a try!
My kids love taro balls, so we gotta check this out! Thanks for the heads up on the new place.
Sounds cool but kinda wish they had some snacks too. I like tea, but I need something to munch.
Glad to see some real tea spots around here, we've needed one like this for a while! Oolong is my go-to.
