Good list! I always forget about some of these. Gonna try the walking trails at Veterans Oasis, I had no idea it was that big.
Linda OrozcoVeterans Oasis is seriously underrated. The bird watching there is no joke either — I saw a great blue heron by the lake last spring. Definitely worth the visit.
Does anyone know if the Veterans Oasis fishing lake requires a license? Would love to take my grandson out there but want to make sure we're doing it right.
lindaf52Yes, Arizona fishing license is required for anyone 10 and older, even at Veterans Oasis. You can grab one online through the AZ Game & Fish website pretty easily. Super fun spot for kids though, definitely worth the trip!
Kennebec skate park is decent but nothing too advanced. My teenager outgrew it pretty fast, wish Chandler had a bigger one.
Tom BreckerAgreed, it's fine for beginners but serious skaters will outgrow it quick. I've heard people drive out to Tempe or Mesa for better parks. Would love to see Chandler invest in something bigger.
Snedigar Sportsplex hosts some really well-organized tournaments. Our league plays there a few times a year and the fields are always in good shape.

We reserved a ramada at Espee for my daughter's birthday last spring and it went really smoothly. Affordable and the kids had a blast at the splash pad after cake.

Tumbleweed Rec Center is worth every penny if you get a membership. The indoor pool alone makes it great in the summer heat.
Ray T.The membership fee is so reasonable compared to a private gym. We used the fitness classes all winter. Only downside is parking gets rough during peak hours.
Kennebec gets overlooked but the skate park there is solid. My son goes almost every weekend. Wish they had some shade out there though, brutal in the summer.

jess_in_chandlerRight?? I've been going there for years and just learned that recently. Apparently a lot of parks around the valley are built on reclaimed land like that. Makes those mountain views even more impressive when you think about what it used to be.
We take the kids to Desert Breeze splash pad every summer. Just a heads up, it gets packed by like 10am on weekends so get there early!
