Dr. Anna Battle will become superintendent of the Chandler Unified School District starting July 1, 2026.
Her appointment comes after a thorough search that highlighted community priorities and included three finalists.
Dr. Battle brings deep experience from deputy superintendent roles at Roosevelt and leadership at Tempe Union High School District and ASU Preparatory Academy.
She previously led Desert Vista and Tempe High schools, earning both state and national recognition for her leadership.
CUSD is facing a projected 3% enrollment decline and a $12 million budget gap, leading to staffing cuts of about 2.2%, or 122 positions.
The district remains focused on keeping a 24:1 student-to-teacher ratio and supporting competitive salaries.
